[origin: GB2553889A] A storage unit 1 comprising a rectangular base 2 with upstanding walls 3, 4, 5 and 6, including side walls 3, 4 and longer front and rear walls 5, 6, and a pair of lids 7, 8 which pivot about axes parallel to the side walls. The axes may be adjacent to the side walls. The lids may overlap, and one of the lids may include a gutter 12 that projects under an edge of the other lid in the closed position, spanning an opening of the unit. The lids may pivotally engage with the front and rear walls, the pivot may comprise lugs (14, fig. 4) in the lids or front and rear walls, received by sockets 13 in the corresponding walls or lids. The lids may comprise protruding portions 16 which overlap the front and rear walls, the lugs or sockets may be in the protruding portions. The upper edges of the walls 10 may have protrusions 17 which may be tapered and which are received by the lids when closed. The front and rear panels or the side panels, or the base, may be formed by identical moulded panels and the lids may be unitarily formed.
