[origin: GB2547922A] A filter apparatus 1 for a grey water recycling system comprising a housing 10, the housing comprising a grey water inlet 10a, a first grey water outlet 10b, a second grey water outlet 10c and a filter 18, the filter being located between the grey water inlet and the first grey water outlet, wherein the housing is configured such that, in use, grey water may flow from the inlet through the filter to the first grey water outlet, or from the inlet directly to the second grey water outlet. Preferably, the housing has a removable lid member 10h and a removable base member 10j. The filter can include a disinfectant element (24, Fig. 4a). The filter element may also include one or more float devices (20, Fig. 4a), the float devices being operable to move the disinfectant element within the housing during use. In another aspect, a storage tank (14, Fig. 5) is connectable to the first grey water outlet.
