[origin: WO2017157597A1] The invention relates to a method for transfer printing for image transfer using specially coated paper and sublimation ink, wherein a pattern or image is printed on paper coated with the special coating, in order to be transferred subsequently from there to the article to be printed. When used in a method for ink jet printing, screen printing, intaglio printing, or a method for flexographic printing, the coating prevents the printed ink from penetrating the paper through the porosity of the paper. The image transfer from the coated paper onto the article to be printed is carried out by heat and exertion of a pressure at a temperature between 200 °C and 230 °C, wherein the coating is activated by the heat, such that the coating becomes soft and adapts to the surface to be printed and is fixed there easily by adhesion. This enables a direct transfer of the sublimation ink to the contact surface of the surface to be printed, such that the coating is superior to the other coatings on the market.
