The device comprises an inlet (3) and an outlet (4) with a single cleaning roller (1). The cleaning roller has a longitudinal axis (5) and is equipped with a stirrer element (12) and comprises a grid (6) arranged below the cleaning roller (1) and further comprises a housing (2). Above the cleaning roller (1), the housing (2) is provided with a guiding element (9) and the guiding element (9) forms a transition chamber (8) for deflecting the conveying air stream (13) in a helical arrangement around the cleaning roller (1). The inlet (3) is centrally arranged with respect to the cleaning roller (1) as seen in the direction of the longitudinal axis (5); the first outlet opening (15) is provided in the region of the first end (14) of the cleaning roller (1); a second outlet opening (17) is provided in the region of the second end (16) of the cleaning roller (1).
