[origin: WO2017162318A1] The invention relates to a method for authorising the use of a motor vehicle, which has at least a first and a second antenna, wherein the first antenna and the second antenna are spatially at a distance from one another, by means of a portable identification device having an identification device antenna. The first vehicle antenna emits a first signal, which is received by the identification device antenna. The identification device determines one of the spacial components of the first electromagnetic field of the received first signal. The second vehicle antenna emits a second signal, which is received by the identification device antenna. The identification device determines one of the spatial components of the second electromagnetic field of the received second signal. A computer determines the angle between the determined spatial components of the electromagnetic fields of the signals and the identification device emits an authorisation signal for authorising the use of the motor vehicle to the motor vehicle, if the determined angle exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
