[origin: WO2017174420A1] The present document describes a loading device for loading storage and transport vessels, or trays for plastic vessels, in particular plastic bottles, which device has a preferably automatable transport device for the trays and a transposer for the plastic vessels that has a multi-gripper for a number of plastic vessels arranged in a row. In a loading station for the trays there is arranged a stabilizing device that has a first support rack (8) and a second support rack (9) that are arranged essentially parallel to one another and can be inserted at least partially into a tray (11) to be loaded. The second support rack (9) can be moved relative to the first support rack (8) from a first mutually adjacent position into a second position with a predefinable distance from one another, in order to open a first loading aisle (14) in the tray (11) that is to be loaded. Once the first loading aisle has been loaded with plastic vessels (20), the second support rack (9) can be moved away from and above the first loaded loading aisle (14) counter to the transport direction (V) of the tray (11), essentially to the first position of the first support rack (8), thus making it possible, by moving the second support rack (9) and the tray (11) in the transport direction (V) of the tray (11) essentially by a predetermined amount while the first rack (8) remains essentially stationary, to open a second loading aisle (15) adjoining the first loading aisle (14). The sequentially opened loading aisles can respectively be approached by the multi-gripper and each loaded with at least one row of plastic vessels. In that context, the second support rack (9) provides tipping protection for the deposited row of plastic vessels (20) while the next loading aisle is opened.
