[origin: WO2017182479A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for checking a color security feature (2) produced using a security dye on a packaging (4) or a packaging add-on, in particular a beverage packaging. The device according to the invention preferably comprises at least one lighting device (6) for the broadband illumination of at least one part of the packaging (4) or the packaging component and a camera device (8) for capturing a plurality of recordings, in particular at least five recordings, of the color security feature (2) of the packaging (4) or the packaging part while the packaging (4) or the packaging component is being illuminated by means of the illuminating device (6). Each of the recordings represents a quantity of reflected light with a specific wavelength, wherein the wavelengths differ from one another at least with respect to the recordings and lie in a color conversion interval (14) of the security dye. The device also comprises an analysis device (12) for determining the quantity of reflected light for each recording, comparing detected values or mathematically processed detected values with a reference criterion, and outputting a result value or a result signal on the basis of the comparison.
