[origin: GB2549752A] A security sheet or page 11 for an identity document (10 figure 1) such as a passport that comprises a plastic substrate 15 with a reinforcement layer 28 embedded within it. The security sheet is used to display personal data 24. The reinforcement layer is formed from a material that is harder than the plastic that forms the substrate. The reinforcement layer may be permeable such that plastic substrate is fused through the reinforcement layer. The reinforcement layer may be in the form of a mesh. The present invention is further directed to a plurality of security documents made from such a security sheet and a method of manufacturing such a security sheet.
