Fer à repasser (2) comportant un corps chauffant (4) comprenant une résistance électrique (40) et un fusible (8) disposé sur le circuit d'alimentation de la résistance électrique (40) pour couper l'alimentation de la résistance (40) en cas de surchauffe du corps chauffant (4), caractérisé en ce que ledit fusible (8) est disposé dans un logement (56) formé sur une platine (5) fonctionnelle qui est fixée sur le corps chauffant (4), ladite platine (5) comportant des éléments de maintien (56A) prenant place sous le fusible (8) pour assurer le maintien du fusible (8) dans le logement (56) lorsque la platine (5) n'est pas encore fixée sur le corps chauffant (4).
