[origin: WO2017190741A1] An apparatus is proposed for producing ice, in particular flake ice, from a liquid, having a cylindrical ice drum (1, 50) which is arranged so as to be able to rotate and which is driven in rotation about an axis of rotation (2) by means of a drum drive, with a liquid application device (3) which applies the liquid that is to be frozen onto the surface of the ice drum (1, 50), with a scraper (4) for removing ice formed from the liquid on the surface of the ice drum (1, 50), with a static evaporator (6) which is arranged inside the ice drum (1, 50) and in which a refrigerant is evaporated, with a refrigerant supply (14) via which the refrigerant is supplied to the evaporator (6), with a refrigerant discharge (15) via which the refrigerant is discharged from the evaporator (6), with at least one refrigerant duct (16, 17) of the evaporator (6) which connects the refrigerant supply (14) to the refrigerant discharge (15) and through which the refrigerant moves in a propagation direction, and with a cold transfer medium between the evaporator (6) and the ice drum (1, 50) which transfers the cold of the evaporator (6) to the ice drum (1, 50).
