Abstract (en)

A method for machining profiles, comprising the following operating steps: - positioning a profile (1) on a support (2) so that a tool (6) can machine an end (1a) thereof by moving along a direction of movement (T) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (L) of the profile (1); - locking the profile (1) with position-holding means (3, 4, 5); - machining the end (1a) by moving the tool (6), which is capable of removing material according to one of the following complementary substeps, respectively a "female" and a "male configuration": –ª removing a central portion (1b) of the end (1a) along an oblique direction, maintaining two layers partly projecting and defining an internal face (1c) and an external face (1d) of said profile (1) when positioned in place; –ª removing two surface planar layers of said end (1a) and cutting the whole end (1a) according to an oblique direction in order to obtain a "male-female" type joint. The subject matter of the present invention further relates to an apparatus capable of implementing the method disclosed above.
