Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to a method for detecting an operational condition of an elevator. In the method sound data is received from a plurality of microphones (160A, 160B, 160C); an indicator value is generated (320), on the basis of the received sound data; the generated indicator value is compared (330) to a reference value; a detection result is set (340), in accordance with a comparison between the generated indicator value and the reference value, to express one of the following: a) the operational condition of the elevator is default, b) the operational condition of the elevator deviates from default. The invention also relates to a data processing device.
