The support system has second connection elements, the at least one plug connection component of which are disposed on an end side of the assigned support, and the second connection elements are selectively connectable to a first connection element or to a further second connection element. A system of connection elements includes first connection elements as well as second connection elements.

Ein Trägersystem umfasst Träger (2, 3) und Verbindungselemente (7, 8, 9) zur Verbindung der Träger (2, 3) miteinander. Die Träger (2, 3) sind über Steckverbindungen (4) miteinander verbunden. Die die Steckverbindung (4) bildenden, zusammenwirkenden Steckverbindungskomponenten umfassen zumindest ein Steckelement (5) und zumindest eine Steckaufnahme (6). Jedes Verbindungselement (7, 8, 9) ist an einem Träger (2, 3) festgelegt und weist zumindest eine Steckverbindungskomponente auf. Das Trägersystem weist erste Verbindungselemente (7, 9) auf, deren mindestens eine Steckverbindungskomponente an einer Längsseite (15) des zugeordneten Trägers (2, 3) angeordnet ist. Ein einfacher Aufbau des Trägersystems ergibt sich, wenn das Trägersystem zweite Verbindungselemente (8) umfasst, deren mindestens eine Steckverbindungskomponente an einer Stirnseite (16) des zugeordneten Trägers (2, 3) angeordnet ist, und die zweiten Verbindungselemente (8) wahlweise mit einem ersten Verbindungselement (7) oder einem weiteren zweiten Verbindungselement (8) verbindbar sind. Ein System von Verbindungselementen umfasst erste Verbindungselemente (7, 9) sowie zweite Verbindungselemente (8).
