[origin: WO2017216477A1] The invention relates to a gas dome structure (1) for a sealed, thermally insulating vessel arranged inside a double shell defined by an inner shell (5) and an outer shell (4), said gas dome structure (1) comprising: - an outer drum (20) that fits through two openings (18, 19), one each in the outer shell (4) and the inner shell (5); - an inner drum (23) that extends inside the outer drum (20), is secured to the outer drum (20) and is to be sealingly connected to the sealing membrane (9); - an insulating gap (24) between the inner drum (23) and the outer drum (20); - the outer drum (20) comprises a first collar (21) and a second collar (22) that radially protrude outwards from the outer drum (20) and can be welded to the outer shell (4) around the opening (18) in the outer shell (4) and to the inner shell (5) around the opening (19) in the inner shell (5), respectively.
