[origin: WO2017221093A1] The invention relates to a drafting unit (4) for a textile machine for drafting an elongate sliver fed to the drafting unit (4). The invention proposes that the drafting unit (4) comprises at least two drafting-unit modules (26) arranged in succession in a transporting direction of the sliver (9), said drafting-unit modules (26) each comprising a roller (1) and a counter-roller (2) corresponding to the roller (1), wherein the roller (1) and the counter-roller (2) of each drafting-unit module (26) have a roller body (3) that is rotatable about an axis of rotation (14), wherein a sliver (9) is able to be guided in a clamped manner between the roller body (3) of the roller (1) and corresponding counter-roller (2), wherein each drafting-unit module (26) has a separate carrier (10) on which the roller (1) and the counter-roller (2) are mounted, wherein the roller (1) of each drafting-unit module (26) is mounted in such a way on the carrier (10) of the respective drafting-unit module (26), via a receptacle (11) in the carrier (10), that said roller (1) is movable back and forth between a loading position and relief position independently of the rollers (1) of the other drafting-unit modules (26), wherein the roller bodies (3) of the roller (1) and of the corresponding counter-roller (2) are pressed against one another in the loading position, in order to guide the sliver (9) in a clamped manner, and wherein the roller bodies (3) of the roller (1) and of the corresponding counter-roller (2) are not in contact in the rest position.
