Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2017220244A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a parking lot, wherein the parking lot has a parking surface for the parking of motor vehicles, comprising the following steps: sensing a plurality of motor vehicles located on the parking surface by means of a plurality of pressure sensors arranged on the parking surface and/or set in the parking surface, determining respective sizes of surface sections of the parking surface that are occupied by the sensed motor vehicles on the basis of the sensing, inserting the occupied surface sections having the determined size into a digital map of the parking lot such that a digital map of the parking lot indicating which surface sections having which size are occupied is created, sensing a size of a further motor vehicle that should be parked on the parking surface, determining a further surface section of the parking surface for the further motor vehicle on the basis of the created digital map and on the basis of the sensed size of the further motor vehicle, on which further surface section the further motor vehicle should park. The invention further relates to a system for operating a parking lot, to a parking lot for motor vehicles, and to a computer program.
