According to the invention, the internal wall (8) of the guideway (5) comprises an internal lateral face (9) which is inclined upwards from the internal wall (8) to the external wall (7) and when the projecting part (4) of the trigger (2) is introduced into the guideway (5), the lateral face (10a) of the groove (10) presses against the internal and inclined lateral face (9) to hold the projecting part (4) in the guideway (5) and prevent the gear-change lever (1) from being moved laterally out of the reverse-gear corridor. The invention finds an application in the field of motor vehicles.
