[origin: WO2018011041A1] The invention relates to a fire extinguishing device (1;1') for installing in an area (200) and for fighting fires in multiple sectors of the area, comprising a housing (7) with an extinguishing fluid inlet (3), wherein the housing has multiple extinguishing fluid outlets (5a-f) that are fluidically connected to the extinguishing fluid inlet. According to the invention, the extinguishing fluid outlets (5a-f) are equipped to deliver an extinguishing fluid along individual extinguishing fluid trajectories (101a-f), and are fixed and oriented on the housing in such a way that the respective extinguishing fluid trajectories originating from said outlets cover different sectors (203a-f) of the area. A control element (17a-f) is allocated to each extinguishing fluid outlet in order to selectively release or block the connection between extinguishing fluid inlet and extinguishing fluid outlet.
