[origin: WO2018011135A1] The invention relates to a method for producing solid acrylic acid polymers, comprising the steps of: (a) preparation of an aqueous acrylic acid polymer solution having a solids content of 30 to 70 % by weight by radical polymerization, (b) at least partial neutralization of the aqueous acrylic acid polymer solution by the addition of a base, whereby heat of neutralization is released, and concentrating the aqueous acrylic acid polymer solution using the heat of neutralization to form a highly concentrated acrylic acid polymer solution having a solids content of 60 to 80 % by weight, (c) shaping and drying the highly concentrated acrylic acid polymer solution.
