[origin: WO2018010944A1] In order to improve a ribbon needle loom in applications in which the woven material (9) is intended to have a variable width, it is proposed that the weft needle (10, 16) and the knitting needle (10b, 16b) with which the weft threads (14, 15) are knitted together on the weft-remote side be arranged on a common, movable carrier (10c, 16c). In order to be able to produce symmetrical woven material (9) with such a ribbon needle loom, - as a further improvement, two-sided weft insertion is proposed, wherein the two weft needles (10, 16) and the two knitting needles (10b, 16b) with which the respective weft threads (14, 15) are knitted together on the weft-remote side, are arranged in each case on a common, movable carrier (10c, 16c). It is advantageous here for the carriers (10c, 16c) not to impede one another when moved, but to be arranged one above the other.
