[origin: WO2018015212A1] The invention proposes a door monitoring circuit (10) for a domestic appliance having an encoder input (12), a state encoder (30) which is connected to the encoder input (12) and represents the state of a loading door of the domestic appliance, a high-voltage relay input (16) for driving the door monitoring circuit (10) with a high-voltage relay control signal (HVR_ON), a relay control output (56) for driving a network switching relay (70) of the domestic appliance, and a monitoring unit (50) which is connected to the relay control output (56), to the encoder input (12), to the high-voltage relay input (16) and to the door monitoring output (22). In this case, the monitoring unit (50) is designed to drive the relay control output (56) depending on the high-voltage relay control signal (HVR_ON) only when the state encoder indicates that the loading door of the domestic appliance is closed. The invention also proposes a domestic appliance having a door monitoring circuit of this kind
