[origin: US2019164415A1] Various embodiments may include a method for the automatic calibration of a smoke detector comprising: mounting the smoke detector in a channel with an aerosol flow, along with a reference smoke detector; calibrating the smoke detector with data received by the reference detector. The reference detector comprises a scattered light receiver and a scattered light transmitter defining a scattered light plane. The aerosol flow through the channel flows through the reference detector transversely to the scattered light plane.
