[origin: EP3492335A1] This train security system for securely operating trains, is provided with: a ground device for controlling a train; a plurality of axle counters which are arranged side by side in a specific section of a travelling path such that at least one of the axle counters is arranged near each end of the specific section and each of which detects the direction and the number of axles of the train passing nearby; and a plurality of train security devices which are arranged side by side in the specific section such that at least one of the train security devices is arranged near each end of the specific section. One of the train security devices acquires, on the basis of one of the axle counters, the number of axles that have entered the specific section. The other axle counter acquires, on the basis of the other axle counter, the number of axles that have exited from the specific section. One of the train security devices and the other train security device communicate with each other. When one of the train security devices recognizes that the numbers of axles recognized by both the train security devices match with each other and that the number of axles having entered is equal to the number of axles having exited, the train security device can transmit a reset signal to all the axle counters in the specific section.
