[origin: WO2018024837A1] The invention relates to a method for surface-coating a component whose surface to be coated is fully or at least partially in the form of a metal surface, wherein the surface to be coated is provided with a friction-reducing and/or strength-increasing coating, wherein the component is conveyed through a continuous furnace and is coated with the friction-reducing and/or strength-increasing coating in the continuous furnace while being heated by means of a process gas which is introduced into the continuous furnace and to which a coating additive material is added. The invention also relates to a coating apparatus for carrying out a method of this type.
