[origin: WO2018029092A1] The invention relates to a press die (20) for producing a roof tile (10) consisting of clay, comprising a first die half (22) and a second die-half (24), wherein the die halves (22, 24) can be moved relative to each other between a pressing position, in which the die halves (22, 24) substantially delimit a receiving space (30) that represents the form of the finished roof tile (10), the surface (34) of the first die half (22) and the surface (38) of the second die half (24) representing respective surfaces (12, 14) of the roof tile (10), and a filling position, in which the die halves (22, 24) are mutually spaced and the first and/or the second die half (22, 24) can be filled with a plastically deformable clay material (78). The first die half (22) and/or the second die half (24) has/have at least one depression (40) which represents a projecting part (18) of the finished roof tile (10), wherein a first compression element (52) is provided in and/or on the depression (40), said compression element being movable between an initial position, in which the first compression element (52) is retracted in relation to the form of the finished roof tile (10) and a compaction position, in which some sections of the first compression element (52) represent the surface (12, 14) of the roof tile (10).
