[origin: EP3499910A1] A user device (102) can detect an ear-fitting headphone (100) being removed from an ear of a user wearing the ear-fitting headphone (100) by determining that a capacitance of a capacitive sensor (106) of the ear-fitting headphone (100) has changed. The user device (102) can notify the user that the ear-fitting headphone (100) has been removed from the ear if it is determined that the capacitance of the capacitive sensor (106) has changed over a time period by an amount greater than a threshold.
