[origin: WO2018033539A1] The invention relates to a switchgear power contact, having at least one contact pin and/or one contact socket (1), wherein at least one insulating layer, as at least one electrical insulating element (5, 4), is arranged inside the contact socket (1) and/or on the outside of the contact pin. In the case of relative motion of the contact pin and the contact socket (1), the at least one electrical insulating element prevents current from flowing outside of the contact element (3) provided therefor and limits the current flow to the contact element (3). The invention further relates to corresponding power contact insulation.
