Ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Herstellen von Bürsten sieht vor, dass rückseitig vorstehende Filamentenden (58) durch einen Stempel erhitzt und verschmolzen werden, wobei der Stempel (54) nicht wie bislang senkrecht zur Oberseite (42) eines Borstenträgers (14), sondern eine Relativbewegung zwischen Stempel und Borstenträger mit einer Querkomponente stattfindet.
