[origin: WO2018041534A1] The invention relates to a method for controlling an electromagnetically controllable inlet valve that is integrated into a high-pressure fuel pump, in which a magnetic coil is energized as a function of the piston stroke of a pump piston of the high-pressure fuel pump for the purpose of closing the inlet valve. According to the invention, a power loss is realized via the energization of the magnetic coil, which is used to heat the fuel. The invention further relates to a computer program for implementing said method.
