The method comprises: collating a selection of material sheets (302) specific to the document type in a sequence specific to the document type order, producing a sheet material booklet (300), wherein the respective immediately following material sheet (302) according to the sequence specific to the document type is fixed successively to each of the collated material sheets (302), such that the relative orientation of the collated material sheets (302) relative to one another is fixed, producing a composite body by lamination of the sheet material booklet (330), wherein the sheet material booklet (300) is subjected to pressure and heat in a pre-defined manner, separating material by carrying out a first material separation process using ultrasound, such that a laminated composite body having a geometric format (502) for a first document type is produced.
