[origin: WO2018050588A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a wet-laid nonwoven fabric, comprising the following steps: feeding a fibrous material suspension on a forming fabric for depositing a fibrous web thereon, wherein the fibrous material suspension comprises industrially manufactured, inorganic fibers or fibers of synthetically produced polymers and the fibrous material suspension is essentially free of - preferably chemical - binders; and hydraulic consolidation of the fibrous web for producing the nonwoven fabric web by water jet needling of the fibrous web.
