[origin: WO2018050597A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a honeycomb body (1) for exhaust gas aftertreatment, wherein the honeycomb body (1) has at least one housing (2) and a honeycomb structure (3) having a plurality of channels (4), wherein the method comprises at least the following steps: a) providing at least one smooth metal plate (5), b) introducing a structure (6) into at least part-regions of the smooth metal plate (5), wherein the structure (6) in at least one first longitudinal section (10) is formed differently from the structure (6) in at least one second longitudinal section (11) of the metal plate (5), c) forming the honeycomb structure (3) by arranging and twisting the at least one structured metal plate (5), such that a first cell density (12) in an inner radial zone (8) is increased by comparison with a second cell density (13) in an outer radial zone (9), d) inserting the honeycomb structure (3) into the housing (2), e) connecting the honeycomb structure (3) to the housing (2).
