Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2018050478A1] The invention relates to a medical data communication system (2), to a follow-up system for medical devices (4a, 4b, 4c), and to a method for operation thereof. The medical data communication system (2) comprises at least one medical device (4a, 4b, 4c), at least one wireless access point (8a, 8b), and a central computer (12), which are coupled via a network (10). The medical device (4a, 4b, 4c) comprises a logic module (16) and a transmit/receive module (18) coupled thereto. The transmit/receive module (18) and the wireless access point (8a, 8b) are configured in order to establish a wireless data link (14) at least intermittently. The logic module (16) transmits data received at an input interface (20, 20a, 20b) via the transmit/receive module (18) and via the wireless data link (14) to the access point (8a, 8b).
