La présente invention se rapporte à Arme à feu opérant à culasse ouverte comprenant un mécanisme de commande de tir 3 disposé sous une carcasse dans laquelle coulissent des pièces mobiles 2 déplacées vers l'arrière par récupération de gaz, et vers l'avant par un ressort récupérateur 12, la récupération des gaz et le ressort récupérateur 12 étant disposés sous l'axe du canon 5, ladite arme à feu comprenant un chien 14 disposé, en position chargée, au-dessus de l'axe du canon 5, et la libération dudit chien 14 étant indépendante du mécanisme de commande de tir 3.
