[origin: WO2018065907A1] The invention relates to a cleaning device (1) for the surface (21) of a cylinder (2) of a printer and/or copier. The cleaning device has a cylindrical cleaning element (3), which can be rotated by at least one drive and has a cleaning border (31) on the outer circumference (32) of the cleaning element, and a suction unit (4, 4'), which can conduct at least one suction medium and which comprises at least one suction channel (41, 41') that is arranged on the outer circumference of the cleaning element and extends along the longitudinal direction of the cleaning element. The aim of the invention is to achieve a simple technical design with little required maintenance together with a good cleaning result and a reliable removal of dirt. According to the invention, this is achieved by a generic cleaning device in which a suction slit that extends along the suction channel and is arranged on the cleaning element opens into the suction channel tangentially to the suction channel cross-section.
