Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2018065193A1] The invention comprises a method for controlling an electromagnetic vented brake (1) which comprises a coil carrier (2) which has an internal poll (3) and an external pole (4), a solenoid (5) and at least one further force-exerting element. In this context, the internal pole (3) and the external pole (4) of the coil carrier (2) each have a surface with a varying gradient, as well as an armature disc (7) which also has an internal poll (8) and an external pole (9), wherein the surfaces of the internal poll (8) and of the external pole (9) of the armature disc (7) each fit, in a complementary fashion, the surfaces of the respective internal polel (3) and external pole (4) of the call carrier (2). In this context, the brake has an air gap (11) which varies in size and forms a stroke region (21) between a basic gap (16) and a rated air gap (20). In this context, when excitation occurs the solenoid (5) generates a magnetic force, and the force-exerting element generates a second force opposed to the magnetic force of the solenoid (5), wherein the ratio of the magnetic force of the solenoid (5) and the second force of the force-exerting element varies at least once between greater than and smaller than one during the movement of the armature disc (7) in the stroke region (21) owing to the variation of the excitation of the solenoid (5).
