[origin: WO2018065468A1] The invention relates to a method for knitting a three-dimensional knitted fabric (1) with an oversized circular knitting machine, in which method the knitted fabric (1) is knitted with multiple stitches (2) that form multiple rows of stitches (4) each oriented in a row of stitches direction (3) of the knitted fabric (1), and multiple wales (10) each oriented in a wale direction (5) of the knitted fabric (1), wherein at least one of the stitches (2) is formed as at least one wave-forming stitch (6) that extends in the wale direction (5) over a plurality of rows of stitches (4) and binds at least one wave (7) in the knitted fabric (1).
