Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2019154710A1] The invention relates to a knitting machine part (15) for installation in a knitting machine and to a method for production thereof. The knitting machine part (15) comprises a plurality of tool guides (16), each for one knitting tool (17). Each tool guide has a hardened region (30). The majority of the hardened regions (30) are formed to be integral without seams or joints, such that the hardened regions can be described as integral regions (30a), which transition integrally into adjacent, non-hardened regions (31). At least one hardened region (30) of the knitting machine part (15) is formed by a non-integral region (30b), in that a hardened, separate component (33) is arranged there, which forms the non-integral hardened region (30b). The component (33) can be designed as an insert part (34) and inserted in a receptacle recess (35). The integral regions (30a) are preferably formed by induction hardening of a knitting machine part (15) which is not yet hardened, wherein a separate hardened component (33) can be arranged in each insufficiently hardened region in order to provide a hardened, non-integral region (30b).
