Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2018073265A1] The invention relates to an hydraulic expansion chuck device in the form of an expansion chuck, especially for securing a component or tool to a machine tool or a workbench. The device has a main part (2) which defines a clamping axis (X) and at the front end region of which a central recess (5) is provided, which is open towards the front end face (4) of the main part (2) and into which a component (B) to be clamped can be axially inserted. The recess (5) is surrounded by multiple pressure chambers (6) to which hydraulic pressure can be applied and which are evenly distributed across the circumference of the clamping portion and in particular are concentric to the clamping axis. In the regions between the clamping surface and the pressure chambers (6), the side (7) of the recess (5) in the main part (2) is elastic in such a way that when the hydraulic pressure in the pressure chambers (6) rises said side is elastically deformable towards the inside in order to frictionally secure a component inserted into the recess (5).
