A press (MC) is described for pressing a vegetable product, and a control method for the press.The press comprises a drum (10) rotatable about a horizontal axis (X) and provided with a draining sieve (12) to separate the solid and liquid part of the vegetable product,wherein the volume of the drum (10) consists of two or more isolated load volumes, and in each load volume being installed an inflatable membrane (50a, 50b) for pressing the vegetable loaded therein against a respective draining sieve.
