[origin: WO2018077908A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a rechargeable lithium ion cell for a lithium ion battery, having the following steps: providing a lithium ion cell having at least a cathode, an anode, a separator, and an electrolyte, forming the cell by means of at least one charging and discharging operation, for which a forming voltage, a charging current, a discharging current, and/or a charging temperature are specified. According to the invention, the forming voltage is held constant or nearly constant over time in accordance with a current charge value and a current voltage value of the lithium ion cell.
