Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2018083310A1] The present invention relates to a power converter assembly comprising at least one self-oscillating resonant half bridge power converter. The at least one self-oscillating resonant half bridge power converter comprises first and second controllable semi-conductor switches connected in series between a first DC supply rail and a second DC supply rail. A first gate inductor of the resonant half bridge power converter is connected between a control input of the first controllable semiconductor switch and a first bias voltage and a second gate inductor is connected between a control input of the second controllable semiconductor switch and a common output node of the first and second controllable semiconductor switches. The power converter assembly comprises a start-up circuit configured to inject a first voltage pulse into the control input of the first controllable semiconductor switch for switching the first semi-conductor switch from a non-conducting state to a conducting state and initiate oscillation of the self-oscillating resonant half bridge power converter.
