[origin: WO2018085872A1] The invention relates to a method and a heat reservoir (1) for storing thermal energy, comprising the steps of: - arranging a bed (8) in a first storage vessel (9); - conveying the bed from the first storage vessel (10) into a fluidised bed module (7); - fluidising the bed (8) in the fluidised bed module (7); - exchanging heat between the bed (8) in its fluidised state and a first fluid flow inside a first heat exchange element (20); - and conveying the bed (8) from the fluidised bed module (7) into the second storage vessel (10), wherein - said bed (8) comprises micro-capsules (17) that have a phase change material (18).
