[origin: EP3541007A1] A cryptographic communication apparatus according to an arrangement includes an encryption part (52), a decryption part (53), and a control unit (3). The encryption part (52) prefetches an encryption key for encrypting plaintext data before receiving the plaintext data and, when receiving the plaintext data, encrypts the plaintext data using the encryption key. The decryption part (53) prefetches a decryption key for decrypting cipher text data before receiving the cipher text data and, when receiving the cipher text data, decrypts the cipher text data using the decryption key. The control unit (3) controls a volume of the encryption key to be prefetched and a volume of the decryption key to be prefetched.
