To limit the viscous material delivery pressure, the hydraulic pump (3) comprises a pressure controller which is adjustable to a setpoint pressure of the hydraulic fluid, wherein the pressure of the hydraulic fluid in the drive line (8) is limited to an adjustable maximum pressure by means of an adjustable pressure limiting valve (5), and the setpoint pressure of the pressure controller and the maximum pressure of the hydraulic fluid are adjustable by means of a common adjusting element (6).
