[origin: WO2018099645A1] The invention describes a protective helmet (100), in particular a motorcycle helmet, having a jet helmet part (1) and a chin part (2), which are releasably connected to each other by a coupling part (3). The chin part (2) and the jet helmet part (1) can be swiveled relative to each other in swivelling directions (4) by means of a swivelling mechanism between an integral helmet position and a jet helmet position. The coupling part (3) comprises a coupling element (10) on the chin part (2) and a second coupling element (11) on the jet helmet part (1), which coupling elements are designed to engage into each other to form a mutually releasable form-fit coupling. In addition, the swivelling mechanism actuates a locking mechanism, wherein the locking mechanism comprises a blocking slider (7) and is designed such that, in the integral helmet position, the blocking slider (7) blocks the first coupling element (10) such that a decoupling of the coupling elements (10, 11) is prevented, and in the jet helmet position, the blocking of the first coupling element (10) is released, thereby enabling the coupling elements (10, 11) to be decoupled.
