[origin: WO2018099886A1] The invention relates to an applicator for a folded adhesive strip (8), comprising an adhesive strip roll (6) with an adhesive strip (7), which comprises an adhesive layer (30), and an unwinding device for an end portion of the adhesive strip (7) of the adhesive strip roll (6), a plasma source (20) with a process gas (22) which is enriched with reactive substances, said plasma source being aligned towards a reactive exterior (31) of the adhesive layer (30) of the wound end portion of the adhesive strip (7), wherein the adhesive layer (30) has at least one substance. The applicator also comprises a folding device (10) for the adhesive strip (7), said folding device being arranged downstream of the plasma source (20) in the running direction of the activated adhesive strip (7).
