[origin: WO2018108550A1] - The invention concerns a method for treating an oil effluent from a process for the assisted recovery of hydrocarbons in a geological reservoir, the assisted recovery being implemented by means of a flushing fluid comprising at least one surfactant. - The method according to the invention comprises at least one step of separating the phases of a mixture from the oil effluent by demulsification, by injecting, into the mixture, a demulsification agent comprising at least trivalent cations and/or tetravalent cations, the mixture being formed from at least oil, water and at least a portion of the surfactant.
