[origin: WO2018108576A1] The invention relates to a printing head for the application of a coating medium to a component, in particular for the application of a paint to a motor vehicle body component, with a nozzle plate (1), a nozzle (2) in the nozzle plate (1) for emitting the coating medium, and a valve element (9, 11) which can be moved relative to the nozzle plate (1) for controlling the coating medium emission through the nozzle (2), wherein the movable valve element (9, 11) closes the nozzle (2) in a closed position, whereas the movable valve element opens the nozzle (2) in an open position, and with a seal (11, 12) for sealing the nozzle (2) with respect to the movable valve element (9, 11) in the closed position of the valve element (9, 11). The invention provides that the seal (11, 12) is not configured as an elastomer insert on the valve element (9, 11).
