[origin: EP3556255A1] A mattress carrier assembly (12), comprising side and end members (40, 42) that form a frame (30) with a periphery (36) along first and second directions (X, Y), and which are connected in corner regions (50). The carrier assembly is adapted to receive a valance (16), with a main valance sheet (18) extending along a first frame side (32), and that a fringing valance sheet (20) extending along the frame periphery. At least one corner region (50) comprises a biasing member (60) that protrudes from the corner region and predominantly in the third direction (Z) towards a second frame side (34). The biasing member is sufficiently stiff to hold the valance fringing sheet under outward tension in first and second directions when the valance is at rest, but is sufficiently elastic to temporarily and reversibly flex and allow the fringing sheet to deflect when subjected to an additional force (F) along one of the first and second directions.
